Outdoor Fun

This past Saturday it was nice enough for us to zoom out to the local park for some fun on the jungle gym. Addison is quite independent and likes to climb and slide all on her own. She also had a few other kids her age on the jungle gym. It was funny how they all wanted to go down the same slide.

Below are a videos of Addison going down the curved slide and one of her almost going down a slide and chickening out at the last second.

Here are some other shots of her playing with her football!

Indoor Fun

We are still in the midst of cooler weather here, with the occasional day that is nice enough to go outside for some fun. After a recent trip to Target, Addison could not resist playing with a junior sized football they had in the toy section. We figured she would lose interest in it quickly in the store, however, she was so into playing with it that we bought it for her. It has continued to be a big hit as you can see below:

Addison also likes to put magnets on the refrigerator and then knock them off by sliding them to the bottom as hard as she can.

Here are some videos of Addison shaking her head with some fancy star shaped sunglasses on to the tune of one of the Imagination Movers songs sung by Kelly:

Here are two other videos of Addison running around shouting "faster" and making noises. She wants us to say faster and also make weird noises while we chase her and she chases us.

Hamburgers

We had hamburgers for dinner the other night, and Addison wanted to help eat her mom's like a "big girl" as seen in the pictures below. She opened her mouth as wide as it would go and shoved the burger in her face to take a bite. She made a mess doing this, but it was so funny that we let her continue.

Shannon's Shower

Near the end of January Kelly helped host a couples shower out in Gauss, TX where her friend Shannon's parents live. Shannon is getting married in Houston on March 7th. Shannon's friends and family were there, in addition to most of Isaias' family. There were lots of kids around, and Addison saw Ellie that she knew from the previous get together out there. It was rather cold outside, so we stayed inside their barn most of the time. They had moved most of the equipment so there was plenty of room to hang out and eat. Addison liked to follow Ellie around and get into trouble by pushing on the blue tarp they had as a barrier to prevent the kids from messing with any tools. We brought along our Nintendo 64 with Mario Kart for the older kids to play with. It was very popular and kept the kids busy.

Addison kept wanting to make trips outside, despite how cold it was. I was nominated to go with her since Kelly is not a big fan of the cold, is pregnant, and was hosting the party. Addison would run around kicking the piles of leaves and picking up sticks to throw. She really likes being outside, and it is hard to explain to her why she can't go out when it is really cold. Overall, we had a fun time and look forward to visiting again when it is warmer.

Above is Addison saying hello to some of the other kids at the party. She was very cute.

The picture above is Addison saying hello to Ellie, whom she had met at a previous get-together out here. In the next two pictures they are playing with the tarp and getting into trouble.

This is the 3D style cake that we had at the end of the party. I'm not sure how they did the bow, but it tasted great.

Kid #2 Sonogram

Above is the sonogram picture of kiddo number 2 that was taken back in December. We should have another sonogram in the coming weeks so we can find out if it is a boy or a girl. Hopefully the baby will cooperate and let us take some good pictures.

Pregnant Again!

We would like to officially announce that Kelly is pregnant again! Kelly is roughly 15 weeks along and is due in early July. When we get a more recent ultrasound, I will post it on here for all to see. Kelly is doing well with the occasional stomach upset and achy back. She has not had as much of a hamburger craving as last time, however, they are still a favorite.

Cousin Natalie

We had a small get-together over at Aunt Nita's where Addison's cousins popped by to goof off in the back yard again. Addison constantly played with the water feature, getting her pair of jeans soaking wet in the process. Her hands were also a bit cold from touching the water, but she did not seem to mind. After we changed her into a new pair of jeans, she went right back and got them wet as well. Natalie and Addison had a lot of fun hanging out and walking around together. Addison would talk to Natalie, even though Natalie did not always understand what she was saying.

Wagon Ride and Eating on the Couch

Above are another set of pictures of Addison about to ride around the neighborhood in her new wagon. She will usually let us pull her around for a while, then want to get out and walk around on her own.

As seen in the above photos, Addison wanted to eat under her blanket on the couch one day on the weekend. She rarely wants to eat in her highchair for more than 10 minutes or so now that she is so mobile.

Holiday Update

Well, we haven't updated the blog in a while so we are going to cover all the holidays at once.

On Halloween, we went to a Fall Festival that was held at a local church. She was too young to play any of the games, but she had a fun time walking around and looking at all the other kids in their costumes. They had a little train that her and I rode in. She had a blast! The whole time she was saying "choo-choo". Here are a few pictures of us in the train.

Thanksgiving we went to Dallas. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures from Thanksgiving. My grandmother (Dad's Mom) passed away the week before Thanksgiving so it was a somber occasion. However, we do have this one great picture to show the world that John (my brother) wore a suit. It will never happen again so you better download the picture and print it now. Doesn't he look so handsome? And for you single ladies out there, he is single as well. If you are interested just let me know :)

It seems like the only pictures we have from Thanksgiving are these of Addison climbing up and down the stairs at my parents house. She wore my Dad out.

Next we move on to Christmas. Mike and I took off the whole week of Christmas and the week of New Year's. She has loved spending so much time with both of us. This Monday will be rough on all of us as we will have to wake up at 5am to go back to work!!

For Christmas she got this kitchen play set from my Dad and Stella. She has so much fun playing with it. It makes noise as you open the frig door, turn on the sink, and turn the light off and on. She especially loves that light. This is a picture of her checking out the light.

These pictures below are from Christmas morning. Mike and I got her the wooden table and chair set. My Mom got her an outdoor picnic table, which we don't have pictures of yet. She has been playing on it a little this weekend since the weather has been very nice. She isn't sure what to make of it yet.

Later on Christmas day, Mike's family came over and we exchanged gifts with them. Here is a picture of her "pedal estate wagon" that she received from her Great Uncle Ed (Pat's brother) in Chicago. Once she warmed up to the car she always wanted to play with it, i.e. sit in it and have you push her. She isn't tall enough to reach the pedals when they are fully extended. I'm sure by this summer she will have it figured out.

This is the wagon that Mike's parents got her. She enjoys riding in it. When you ask her if she wants to get out of the wagon and walk she says "NO!!". She would rather have you pull her everywhere!! We take her outside to wear her out, not us.

There are also a few videos of her playing with her new toys that Mike will have to upload later on.

All in all, we have had a fantastic past two weeks spending all this free time with Addison and our families. We had a wonderful Christmas and love all the gifts we (including Addison) have received from everyone. Thank you so much! Happy New Year!!

Chuy's

We went out for Mexican food at the new Chuy's restaurant off of Townsend BLVD last night. We had probably the best service I have ever had short of when Kelly and I ate at Three Forks in Dallas. That is a 5 star restaurant for those of you who are not familiar with it. Anyway, Addison's kiddie meal came with a push-up ice cream desert which she absolutely loved. I didn't have a real camera, so I used the one on my phone to take the picture below.
