Disney World Vacation Part 3

That first night we went to Chef Mickey's for dinner. This was a buffet style restaurant where Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, etc. would swing by the tables to say hi to the kids and for photo opportunities. The girls also had signature books as well that the characters would come around and autograph. The food wasn't the best, but the kids liked seeing all of their Disney characters up close. They were shy with a few of them and didn't want to get their picture taken, so Kelly and I would have ours taken for fun. After dinner(last picture) we took the girls to a store that was close and let them each pick out a hat. Addison snagged a princess hat that lit up while Kara got one in the shape of Goofy.

Disney World Vacation Part 2

After getting settled in the amazing room, we walked over to our first park, the Magic Kingdom! We caught a parade right after popping in the front entrance that the girls really enjoyed. It was a bit crowded and a little hot on the asphalt that day. The girls were pretty tuckered out by the time we made it to the river boat ride as you can see int he pictures below.

Disney World Vacation

We decided to take a big family vacation to Disney World this year for Labor Day week. We left early in the morning(around 6:00 AM) and drove for roughly 12 hours that first Saturday and stayed the night in Tallahassee, Florida. The girls were wide awake when we left as we had just told them where we were going that morning. They knew we were going somewhere, but they didn't know it was Disney World! The girls behaved pretty well in the car on the way there although there were a few times where you could tell they were tired of being in their seats. We had the DVD players and iPads/iPhones passed around for entertainment. I kept joking with Kelly that all I had when I made this trip as a kid were books and a deck of cards. We made sure to stop every few hours to stretch our legs, eat, or use the restroom.

On the second day of our trip, we repeated the leaving early routine so we could have more time once we arrived at Disney World. We arrived shortly after lunch to our hotel in Disney World(the Bay Lake Tower) only to find out they had overbooked us and that we were switching to The Contemporary Resort, which was right next door and also had the monorail going through it! The best part was that they upgraded us(at no extra cost) to a penthouse suite that was two bedrooms with a main living room in-between them! Apparently the suite we were in goes for over three thousand dollars a night! The best part about the suite was the common area on the way to the rooms after you stepped off of the elevators. They had complimentary food(breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) and drinks(even Heineken!) that we could load up on whenever we wanted. This, combined with the fridge in the room, made it a lot easier supplying the kids with snacks and drinks. I must admit that having the Heineken available at the end of a long day was also great. Anyway, below you will see the pictures taken from the balcony of the suite when we first arrived there.

Below are two pictures of Addison's celebration dance when we got to the room.

Below are two movies from the suite. The first is of the girls on the balcony and a view looking outside. The second is a small tour of the hotel suite.
