Easter

We did an Easter Egg Hunt out at the High School on the soccer fields. They also had some bounce houses, a small riding train, and a petting zoo cage with chickens, sheep, goats, and even a llama. Kara and I ran around on the track while Addison checked out the bounce houses. They both enjoyed the petting zoo cage, but only wanted to touch the animals from the outside of the cage. The egg hunt itself was the usual mad scramble, and the kids had a lot of fun gathering all the eggs and counting them afterwards. Back at the house we unwrapped some gifts, and Nicholas had fun with the wrapping paper.

Kara and Nicholas in the Pink Castle

We got out the castles for the kids to play in and Nicholas had a blast playing with Kara in one of them!

 

Addison's 7th Birthday

We decided to get a bounce house for Addison's 7th birthday, and it was a huge hit. They arrived with it at 8:00 AM, and the girls wanted to hop in it right away despite the party not starting for several hours. 

 Kelly and I even hopped in the thing as you can see in the videos below. Uncle John also brought his new English Bulldog puppy named Romo, and he was an instant hit.

Nicholas had a lot of fun assisting with opening the gifts, and Kara really liked the Frozen dolls that Addison received. Addison was so happy with the Lego The Movie Video game that she cried when she opened it! My parents also got the kids a vanity which Kara absolutely adored.

Nicholas is Getting More Teeth

Nicholas has five more teeth coming in on the top that we can see!

Isabella's Birthday

Kelly's best friend from college has a daughter named Isabella, and she had her 3rd birthday party at a local kids gym. It was a huge place where you could bounce on a big bubble trampoline, go down slides, and climb on a rope net. They also had a play area for smaller kids like Nicholas. Addison loved being able to go nuts, but Kara took some coaxing by Kelly to get into it. Nicholas had a good time army-crawling around in the little kid area and watching all the other kids play.

Hanging Out

Addison's Recital

Addison had her 1st grade end of the year recital where she gets to sing the songs they have been practicing at school. She always has fun doing it, and this year they had some paper cookies they made to use in the performance. Hers was chocolate chip, as that is her favorite.

Building Workshop at Lowe's

The Lowe's near us does a kids building workshop where they have different kits to assemble. This one was to make a valentine holder for Valentine's Day. Addison and Kara both got a chance to build their kits, although Kara had more fun hammering the plywood and let my dad do a good portion of hers. The girls had a great time and were able to take home something they built at the end of the workshop.
