Kara's 2nd Birthday Part 2

After the pool portion of the party, we went inside for presents and food.
Kara was a lot more interested in tearing open the gifts than she was last year!

As seen in the above two photos, my sister Stephanie cooked an apple pie with a "Star" and the letter "K" baked into the crust for the party.
The girls are both big fans of Pixar's Cars and Cars 2 movies. Kara really enjoyed her new Mater truck!



As seen above, Kara is still not a big fan of hats.
The cake(and party) were themed after The Backyardigans, one of the shows both girls like to watch. Kara will come zooming into the TV room if she hears the theme song at the start of the show.


After cake, both girls sat down at their table for ice cream with Aunt Stephanie.

After the party was over, some of us were pretty tired and needed some rest...

Kara's 2nd Birthday

Our third major pool party was also Kara's 2nd birthday party. My Uncle Hector and Aunt Mickey come down from Dallas, along with Kelly's brother John, his girlfriend Liv, Kelly's Mom, Kelly's Dad, and Kelly's Stepmom. Along with my Aunt Anita, it was another full house(and pool)! We started off in the pool, then took a break for food and presents. Kara had a great time and really liked having everyone there. She really got into opening the presents(see the video below), and had a lot of fun playing with everything new. Addison helped out by showing Kara how to ride on her new scooter.

Summer Pool Party Number 2

Our next pool party was in late June, and was coordinated with the Pluff's coming down from Dallas with their new baby Annabell. The Garners, Cashens, and Krebs were also able to make it with their munchkins for another pool full of craziness. It was great to see everyone and play in the pool. I didn't get as many pictures in this time since I was a little busier with the food then I had planned. I hope to do another of these with my friends before the summer is up.

Summer Pool Party Number 1

At the end of May, we had our first official pool party with my folks, our neighbors(and their 5 kids), and with Matt Smith's family. We had a total of 11 adults and 9 kids in the pool. Everyone had a great time, and it was a lot of fun to see Matt's family. I had not see Matt's brother Mike in a long time, and I was glad he could stop by. The usual hot dogs and hamburgers were served, and everyone had a great time!

Brief Visit to Aggieland

The day after we attended the party in Gause(back in May), we went around the A&M campus with the kids before we headed home. We started at the Alumni Center, walked past the stadium, then swung by my old dorm room on the quad. It was good to see everything again, even if it did make me feel a lot older this time around.
