Disney World Vacation Part 10

We bid farewell to Disney World as the kiddos slept in the van on the road to Destin, Florida. We decided to pop by Destin on the way home to enjoy the white sandy beaches and clear blue water. It also helped break up the trip into two shorter increments for the ride back to Texas. The girls had a great time at the beach, even though they were a little scared of the water and mainly wanted to build sandcastles. After a good night sleep, we headed back home the next day. The girls did well in the car until the last hour or so when they went stir crazy. The movies at the bottom are Kelly attempting to collect their craziness on film. Beware there is some screaming on these.

Disney World Vacation Part 9

This was our last full day at the park, and we went over to the Hollywood Studios park. Kelly and I were excited to go see the Muppet area they had set up there in addition to the move back-lot part. The girls were not real thrilled with the loud noises of the Muppet movie/building setup, and mainly wanted to play at this "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" setup where they climbed on giant leaves and such as if they had been shrunk. We ate lunch at Pizza Planet, then visited a Star Wars themed shop and a hat place for some more souvenirs. It started to rain a bit after lunch, and we went back to the hotel with some tired kiddos in tow again.

Disney World Vacation Part 8

On our fourth day, we decided to start off at the Animal Kingdom, and we went on a safari tour in an open bus to see the wildlife. This was probably the best overall thing we did as both the girls really enjoyed seeing all of the animals. The giraffes, lions, and elephants we saw were their favorites. After the main ride, we stopped by a petting zoo where the girls got to brush some of the very tame goats they had(see movies below). They also had a neat African river setup with the native exotic fish in it that I really liked. After lunch the girls were pretty zonked, and we headed back to the hotel for a quick nap and some fun at the hotel pool. They had a decent sized slide on one side and some neat water jets on the other that Addison really liked playing with. After that, we returned to the Magic Kingdom for another parade, merry-go-round rides and teacup rides.

Disney World Vacation Part 7

We started off our third day heading out to Epcot Center. This turned out to be one of the least interesting places for the girls as there was not much there for them. However, this was the first time we got to ride the monorail, which they were both excited about since spotting it when we drove in the park the first day. The first stop in Epcot was an aquarium with Nemo and friends as the theme. Immediately before that however, the girls had a chance to pose with Daisy Duck, which Kara decided not to do. The aquarium was great since it had a dolphin, a large tank with sharks, and also a sea turtle. There were also some other smaller tanks that had seahorses, clown fish, and even cuttlefish.

We then walked around the various "countries" they had sectioned off around Epcot. The only thing the girls liked about this was the Eiffel Tower look-a-like in the French area. We stopped fur lunch in the Italian area and had some amazing pizza while talking with our wait staff that was actually from Italy.

After returning to the hotel for a quick recharge, we went back to the downtown area to visit the Lego store. We bought a lot of stuff for the girls here as they are both very much into Legos just like I was as a kid. They also rode the merry-go-round there with Kara riding on top of one of the horses! You can see this in the movies below.

Disney World Vacation Part 6

We decided to swing by the pool after lunch since both of the kiddos had been requesting it. This also gave them an excuse to wear their new pool cover-ups that you can see below. After the pool, we swung by the Disney Downtown area briefly to visit the shops and such. We didn't stay long and planned a trip back there to go to the Lego store at greater length. After returning from downtown, we snacked in the room for dinner and let the girls stay up to watch the fireworks(2nd to last picture). They were very impressed as they were just as impressive as on the first night. Finally, both girls wanted me to sleep in the same bed with them that night. As you can see in the last picture below, much craziness ensued.
